Pat Gillette is a mentor to many women and men, and it gives her great pleasure to see their collective successes in leadership positions and making an impact in their firms and their communities.

As you rightly suggest, men are generally (though not absolutely) socialized to be tough and hard-working. My pleas for greater work-life balance [as a father] to spend time with my young children were received as if I were speaking Greek. I can’t tell you how much it warms my heart to have a woman speak out on this topic. I hear so much about unevolved men and I understand we can be a little (or even a lot) dense.
